David Valentine and Gregor Lyon - Nasty!

A warning about David Valentine and Gregor Lyon of J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd. Fraudsters? Trading whilst knowingly insolvent? Downright nasty, that is for sure.

First, a head's up;

https://check-business.co.uk/business/08238652/j-r-gaunt-son-london-limited
J R GAUNT & SON (LONDON) LIMITED was formed on the 3rd October 2012 (filed on the 5th August 2014) , and are based in West Midlands, Warstone Works. They are currently rated G and are considered to represent an above average risk score. Their credit score was last updated on 29th January 2015 when it was changed to the current G from C. Companies house classifies them as Small Company. Their current legal status is Voluntary Winding Up. This information was last updated on the 7th March 2016.

OMG, their business only lasted a few months before going into receivership, but yet, and be warned, they are still trading, it seems unlawfully if not illegally.

Second head's up. The new (2012/2013) J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd. directed by David Valentine and Gregor Lyon are fraudsters. The original J R Gaunt & Sons stopped making swords in 1969, continued making buttons for a while, but were finally bought out by Firmin and Sons Ltd in 1991. The new J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd claims to benefit from the TradeMark and more of the original J R Gaunt & Sons, but that is clearly not possible / true. David Valentine and Gregor Lyon / the new J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd are clearly not the legal heirs to the original Gaunt name as they are not Firmin and Sons and did not buy that business. Further, the new fake J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd have no family claim to the name Gaunt, as that belongs to John Richard Gaunt (grandson of James Richard Gaunt, the J. R. Gaunt in the Company’s name). That's right, David Valentine and Gregor Lyon are fraudsters.

Now, my personal experience / warning about their directors, David Valentine and Gregor Lyon.

Gregor Lyon (shareholder and director of the new fake but now bust J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd.), using a J R Gaunt email address, with a J R Gaunt Birmingham delivery address, while the company was supposedly in liquidation, bought an antique WW1 Gaunt naval dirk (short sword) from me on eBay, but then did not pay. It was more than that, Gregor Lyon was a real pain in the backside all along, penultimately demanding a lower delivery price than I paid myself, and generally being obnoxious. Then he / the new and fake J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd did not pay. I found out that the PayPal account they were using had been revoked; no surprises there. So he tried to get me to ship anyway on the basis they pay me once he got the item and by cheque; yeh right!

I said "no". eBay put an unpaid item strike on their account (gregorypeck92), and I relisted the item. Again, the eBay account gregorypeck92 was / is managed by Gregor Lyon, it is registered to a new / fake J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd. email address, with a new / fake J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd. delivery address.

What did David Valentine and Gregor Lyon of fake J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd then do? Why, they filed a TradeMark violation complaint against me and the item with eBay claiming it was not an authentic Gaunt dirk, and that they owned the rights to that name. But, truth be known, apart from the fact the new fake J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd. have now gone bust, they only incorporated in 2014, while the original Gaunt (maker of the dirk) sword making side went out of business in 1969, so J R Gaunt & Sons Ltd. had absolutely no right to claim as they did; a) the dirk is 100% genuine (otherwise, why would they want to buy it!), b) they should not be trading any more anyway, and c) they can not own the rights to the original Gaunt Trademark as they did not take over the original Gaunt business..

Anyway, how nasty can you get. First, buying items when they should not, Second, failing to pay. Third, trying to trick me into sending the item anyway. Forth, then trying to ruin my auction when I refused and relisted the item two weeks later.
